IP Centrex makes use of a carrier grade platform for call handling and routing. The model allows companies to have a partition on the platform that they control. User accounts are purchased on a per person per month charge model which is different to the traditional capex approach of buying a new telephone system.

The key benefits are -

1. No massive up front technology investment required.

2. User are issued with desk or soft phones which register with the platform over a private network link or the public internet.

3. Phone numbers can be assigned from any geographical location.

4. Users have access to corporate technologies for a per seat charge. These include Voicemail, Call forwarding and location services, call recording and click to dial.

5. All calls between users on the platform are free of charge. All calls between users of a company partition can be made using 4 digit extension numbers.

6. Hot desking is available as standard so users can log on and off phone terminals at any location in the company or when working from remote locations.
